The Big River Steampunk Festival Shopper's Emporium on the Great Midway, Main Street and other vendor spaces are open to quality vendors or exhibitors who wish to make available for purchase and/or enjoyment Steampunk-themed works of art, costumes and accessories, jewelry, gadgets and gizmos, literary publications, living history demonstrations, and other appropriate merchandise as approved by Ken and Lisa Marks, co-founders of the Hannibal History Museum Foundation and producers of the Big River Steampunk Festivals and Faires. You may be asked to submit photos of your booth and/or merchandise so that we may determine if your business is appropriate for our audiences.

 

Food vendors are welcome to apply. Food vendors must comply with all ordinances and requirements as determined by the Marion County (Missouri) Department of Health.

 

Set-up is allowed anytime after noon on Friday, August 30, 2019. If you wish to set up earlier you must receive special permission.

 

Vendors have the option to open their booths for sale starting at 5:00pm on Friday evening -- this is OPTIONAL, not mandatory -- if you'd rather begin selling on Saturday morning that will not be a problem.

 

Advertised hours for merchandise sales will be 5:00pm - 9:00pm on Friday, August 30; 10:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, Sept. 1; and 10:00am to 2:00pm on Monday, Sept. 2. Exhibitors also have the option to stay open later than scheduled on Friday, Saturday and Sunday if they wish.

 

Security will be provided between 5:00pm and 6:00am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.

 

Vendors are strictly prohibited from removing their tents/structures before 2:00pm on Monday, Sept. 2 and any vendor who violates this rule will not be invited back to future events.

 

Exhibitor Applications will be accepted until spaces are no longer available. ALL SPACES ARE ASSIGNED ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED BASIS, so the sooner you send in your application and pay your vendor fee the better space you will have. No spaces are guaranteed until vendor fees are paid in full.

 

The Festival producers reserve the right to refuse an Exhibitor application for any reason, particularly if the merchandise or service being offered is not in keeping with the Steampunk theme.

 

 

Exhibitor Information:

 

All spaces are a minimum of 10 feet deep x 15 feet across the front. Additional space may be provided subject to availability.

 

Exhibitor and Food Vendor fees for 2019 are $250.00 per space which includes your required City of Hannibal Temporary Sales License fee ($16.00) and access to electricity.

 

Missouri State Sales Tax must be collected and properly reported by Vendor. Instructions for collecting sales tax are on the Missouri Secretary of State's website.

 

Exhibitor set-up may occur any time after noon on Friday, August 30, 2019.

 

Booths may not be shared unless work is collaborative.

 

Display furnishings such as tents, tables, chairs, shelving and display units must be clean and professional in appearance and in keeping with the Steampunk theme of the Festival.

 

Tents must be secured with weights or stakes, depending on your space. Be prepared for inclement weather, including gusting winds.

 

No trailers or motor vehicles will be permitted in the Midway area between 9:00am and 5:00pm on the days of the event.

 

No portable generators may be used. Electricity will be available to all vendors.

 

Security will be provided from 5:00pm to 8:00am on Friday, August 30; Saturday, August 31; and Sunday, September 1, 2019.

 

Food Vendors must obtain a permit from the Marion County Health Department within ONE MONTH PRIOR to the Festival or they will forfeit their space with no refunds. NO EXCEPTIONS.

 

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

 

By submitting your application you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of the Big River Steampunk Festival as set forth by Ken and Lisa Marks, the Hannibal History Museum Foundation, the City of Hannibal,  the Missouri State Department of Revenue-Sales Tax Division, and the Marion County (Missouri) Department of Health.

 

Ken and Lisa Marks, co-founders of the Hannibal History Museum will retain the right to use photographic images taken of vendor booths and merchandise for the sole purpose of promotion of the Big River Steampunk Festival. Exhibitors retain all rights to their artwork and merchandise.
